History
The Information Technology Institute (ITI) is a
national institute established in 1993 by the Information and Decision Support
Center (IDSC). It provides specialized software development
programs to fresh graduates, as well as professional training
programs and IT courses for the Egyptian Government, ministries,
and local decision support centers.
In 1996, ITI launched its second branch in
Alexandria to facilitate the widespread of Information Technology
throughout the country, and expand the outreach of
ITI.
Over the past 12 years, ITI has supplied the Local,
Regional and International markets with highly-trained
professionals in various IT domains, following a 9-month intensive
training program. Those graduates make up the backbone of the IT
workforce in Egypt. In addition, ITI through its GOV training
program has trained 50000 governmental employees and supervised the
training of Over 400000 in Governorates' Training
Centers.
ITI was awarded ISO 9001 on March 20th 1999, by BSI
company (accredited by the Dutch Council for
Certification).In April 2005, Premier Dr. Ahmed Nazif transferred
the dependency of Information Technology Institute (ITI) to Ministry of Communications and
Information Technology (MCIT).
